What is a caption text?

Caption text is brief description, heading, or title that identifier or introduces a document, graphic, photograph, or table.


Social function

Describe, comment on pictures, photos, tables, graphs and charts.


Text structure

Consist of :

The title, actions/events/activities

The lead, people/things involved

Section Heading, scope of the situation


Linguistic elements

Noun phrases for things, people, animals, locations, etc. Which is the focus, with or without a, the, this, those, my, their, etc.

Participle phrases

Speech, word stress, intonation, spelling, punctuation and handwriting

Topics

Activities, events, data, actual facts from newspapers that can foster the behavior contained dai KI

Language Features

Exclamation

Question

Adjective Phrase

Personal Phrase

Simple Present Tense

Rule of writing a caption?

Supply specific information (Answering 5W1H Question)

By making a caption on the photo, it must be able to answer what the reader wants to know. Like who, where, when etc. usually captions like this are often used by journalists

- Use present tense on the first sentence

- Use the present tense if you want to make a caption in the form of advice or motivational words

- Captions are written in a complete sentences

- Usually captions are made using full sentences without the impression of being half-hearted

- Clearly identify the people and location in the photo

- Include who, and where on the photo when the caption you make is reporting an incident or event

- Identify the person from left to right

- List everyone in a photo from left to right. Usually photos like this are used for the needs of sports teams or musicians.

The reason I chose the photo is because it is an important part of the flag ceremony. The reason I posted it was because I wanted to tell about how Indonesian people celebrate Indonesia's independence day.
