Hello everyone! Back again on my blog, i want to explain about procedure text. SO LET'S GOOO!

 

Definition of Procedure Text

Procedure text is text designed to describe how something is done/achieved through a sequence of actions or steps.

Social Function of Procedure Text

Procedure text has a social function to describe an order or instructions on how something is done/achieved in order or the correct steps.

Structure of Procedure Text

The structure of the procedure text consists of

Goal : provide information about the intent and purpose of the procedure text

Material : provide information about materials and tools needed

Step : contains a list of sequences of instructions for making or operating something

Linguistic Elements of Procedure Text

The linguistic elements contained in the procedure text include:

- Simple present tense

Procedure Text must be written using the Simple Present Tense. This is because in the Procedure Text there are fact sentences about the manufacture or use of something.

- Imperative Sentences

An example is add 3 onions and mix it well with the dough. Command sentences must begin with a verb (verb). Examples are heat, stir, mix, add, boil, plug in, and so on.

- Action Verb

The verbs used in this text are action verbs or activities. Examples of action verbs include: put, cut, slice, remove, heat, stir, pour, place, and take.

- Connectives

Connectives are used as a liaison between one activity and another, for example first, secondly, then, after that, finally, last, and so on.

- Adverbs

Adverbs are used to give adverbs of time, such as: in 10 minutes, for 1 hour, during the first half hour. In addition, it can also be used to provide information on how to (manner), for example slowly, thoroughly, well, fast, and so on.

Types of Procedure Text

- How to do is Inform or instruct the readers to do something. The purpose is to tell the reader how to do something. The information is presented in logical sequence of events that are broken into steps. Example : step of activities, tips or tricks, treatments, etc.

- How to use is Inform or instruct the readers to use something. The purpose is to tell the reader how to use something. The information is presented in logical sequence of events that are broken into steps. Example : use shopee app.

- How to make is Inform or instruct the readers to make something. The purpose is to tell the reader how to make something. The information is presented in logical sequence of events that are broken into steps. Example : How to make pudding, how to make orange juice.

HOW TO MAKE AN OMELETTE

 

Omelette is a variation of an omelet dish that is whipped together with various ingredients.

Materials/Ingredients:
  1. Two eggs
  2. Onions
  3. Garlics
  4. Chilli (if you like spicy)
  5. Salt
  6. Vegetable oil
 Steps:
  1. Firstly, cut into pieces the garlic, onions, and chilli
  2. Second, break the egg into a bowl
  3. Third, put the garlics, onions, chilli, and salt into the bowl
  4. Then, mix them gradually
  5. The next step, heat a frying pan
  6. After that, pour the dough into the frying pan, wait until it looks yellowish
  7. Next, lift using spatula and put it in a plate
  8. Finally, omellete is ready to serve


- Social Function : To describe an order or instructions on how to make an omelette in the correct order or steps.

- Structure :

2) Second, read each text (text 1 and 2) loudly as if you are giving the instructions and take a note on your book. If possible, record your voice. (Baca dengan nyaring seolah- olah kalian sedang memberikan instruksi dan jika memungkinkan rekamlah suara kalian).

 

Practice 3: Read those texts (Text1 and 2) one more time then answer these questions.

d. What is the benefit of reading the texts?

: The benefit of reading this text is the readers will know how to insert simcard cellphone and how to cook using rice cooker.

until snaps into its place.

5. Finally, insert the two catches of

the back cover corresponding slot

in the phone and slide the cover

Goal : To tell how to cook rice in a rice cooker

Showing the purpose of the text

Materials/tools (not required for all

prosedurs text) :-

Telling the material needed

Step :

1. First, rinse a cup of rice in cold water. Rub the rice softly under the running

water. Do not rub the rice too long, because it will lose the nutrients. Wash the

rice once again. Then drain the water from the rice.

2. Next, add a cup of water. If you cook rice using an electronic rice cooker, pay

attention to the water ratio. The rice and the water ratio is usually 1 part rice

to 1 part water.

3. Then, place the cooking pot in the rice cooker properly. Cover the pot. Select

the cooking button right after the light on the rice cook cook turns.

4. Finally, when the rice has been cooked and is resilent , flip through the rice

very gently using a rice spatula

To compose a prosedur text , you will need :

• Present Tenses (imperatives)

flip through the rice very gently using a rice spatula

• Action Verbs

e.g rince, add, flip, cook

• Number to show the sequences

e.g 1,2,3,4, ....

e.g softly, usually, properly, gently

 

 

How to Use Glue Gun

1. First, check and clean the glue gun from any old glue clogging in the nozzle.

2. Second, put the glue stick into the gun nozzle.

3. Third, insert the plug into the electricity socket.

4. Fourth, prepare a sheet of paper and put the glue gun on it.

5. Fifth, wait until the gun get warmer.

6. Sixth, squeeze the trigger gently to check if the glue stick has changed into liquid form.

7. Finaly, you can apply it on any surface that you want to stick by using this glue gun.
